Sustainable design is the practice of creating environmentally responsible buildings that are profitable and healthy places in which to live and work. Thomas Miller & Partners LLC supports sustainable design principles in their practice through careful site planning, material choices, and systems integration. Locally, the firm has been involved with the newly formed Middle Tennessee U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) chapter in order to stay current with trends and product developments related to sustainable design.
Thomas, Miller & Partners LLC has managed projects utilizing the USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, a set of guidelines to quantify “green” projects, and currently has eight design professionals (including interior design) that have passed the LEED™ Accredited Professional examination demonstrating knowledge of sustainable design principles.
We have had some great speaking opportunities promoting sustainable design involving the AIA, CSI, and recognizing the NASA Building 4600 that was recently LEED™ Silver Certified.
